Wiggentree Hat Knitting Pattern
This unique pattern utilizes dip stitches to create what look like branches with outstretched twigs. Fully written instructions, photo tutorials, and a great video tutorial made by my friend Tabitha, this one is packed with information to help you knit this fun design! Written for adult size in 5 different yarn weights, including a few decrease options for size adjustments.
Materials:
DK: ~180-185 yards
US 5/ 3.75mm 16” circular needles
US 6/ 4mm 16” circular needles and/or dpns
Worsted: ~150-160 yards
US 7/ 4.5mm 16” circular needles
US 8/ 5mm 16” circular needles and/or dpns
Heavy worsted/ Aran: ~135-140 yards
US 8/ 5mm 16” circular needles
US 9/ 5.5mm 16” circular needles and/or dpns
Light bulky: ~130 yards
US 8/ 5mm 16” circular needles
US 10.5/ 6.5mm 16” circular needles and/or dpns
Bulky: ~100-110 yards
US 10.5/ 6.5mm 16” circular needles
US 11/ 8mm 16” circular needles and/or dpns
Stitch marker
Tapestry needle
Scissors
Crochet hook (optional, but helpful)
Language: English only
I have enjoyed creating this hat. I did take one liberation to make a slightly thicker feeling hat and used the DK instructions with worsted wool. It gets cold up north here:) The instructions were clear and I do appreciate that she specifies to read though them before starting, that was helpful.
