Wholehearted Mittens Knitting Pattern

These fun colorwork mittens pair beautifully with the Wholehearted Hat and Wholehearted Cowl! The same heart motif is used to create these cute mittens. A peasant thumb helps to give these mittens the classic look.

Written for a medium adult size, other sizes can be achieved by using a different gauge. The short motif allows for some room for lengthening/ shortening the hand portion.

Materials:
Worsted weight yarn: for size M as charted
MC ~ 140 yards/ 128 meters CC ~ 45 yards/ 41 meters
Recommended yarn: Laines du Nord Vasto, Kelbourne Woolens Germantown
US 3/ 3.25mm needles for cuff (optional)
US 4/ 3.5mm needles (shorties, DPNs, or circular needles for magic loop method)
Stitch marker
Tapestry needle
Scissors
Scrap yarn for peasant thumb (smooth is best, ~12”)

Finished size if knit according to gauge:
Circumference: ~21 cm/ 8.3”
Length (including cuff): ~24.75cm/ 9.75”

Gauge: 26 sts x 28 rounds 4” x 4” colorwork pattern in the round, blocked
