Death Wing Hat Knitting Pattern

Inspired by the popular Empyrean series, the motifs on this hat complement the cowl of the same name. Featuring double dragons flying over runes and ruins, this stranded colorwork design is perfect for lovers of fantasy.

There are minimal written instructions for this - just the brim and crown decrease. All colorwork is charted only.

Skill level: Intermediate to Advanced

• Knowledge of fair isle knitting is required (ie. catching floats)
• Pattern does not include written instructions other than the ribbing pattern
• Familiar with blocking

The main pattern is DK weight: Two options for the back (dragons or fleur de lis)

Bonus worsted pattern - The chart is very tall for worsted weight, resulting in a very rapidly decreased crown. If you don’t mind a slouchier hat, this version would work well for you.
