Alastor Hat Knitting Pattern

Named for Alastor “Mad-Eye” Moody, distinguished auror, Dark Arts Professor, and mentor. I also wanted something bold for this famous and beloved professor of the Hogwarts students. Using the same construction as the Finnigan Hat, this hat is also quite explosive in design!

Skill level: Advanced Beginner/ Intermediate

Bulky weight yarn (5)
Lion Brand Color Made Easy - about 125 yards
US 8/5.0mm 16” circular needles
US 10/6.0mm 16” circular needles or corresponding dpns for decreases
Cable needle

Gauge: 14 st across x 15 rounds = 4 x 4 inches in stockinette

Finished size: approximately 8” wide x 9.25” tall unstretched
